Three practical comparisons
Gear Lab
Compare everyday ADHD gear on the details that affect whether it works in real life: noise, discreetness, durability, and price band.
- Links distinguish product pages, brand sites, product searches, and our own tool. None are affiliate links today.
- Items we have not used hands-on are marked Spec-reviewed.
- Our browser timer is marked Built in-house. No physical products carry a hands-on test label yet.
Choose a comparison
Fidgets for adults
Most “best fidget” lists are ads. This table rates each fidget on the four things that actually decide whether you keep using it: noise, how it reads in a meeting, how it survives a pocket, and price honesty.
Visual timers
A visual timer turns time into something you can see shrink. We compare the disk-style originals, the cheap cube timers, and our free browser version — on noise, desk presence, durability, and price.
Earplugs & noise control
Noise is the most common sensory trigger ADHD adults report. We compare filtered earplugs, foam, and headphones on how much they cut, whether you can still hold a conversation, and which price band they fall in. A yearly cost is not in this table.
Published rubric
The same four checks on every item
- Noise
- Can you use it in a meeting, library, or open office?
- Discreetness
- Does it read as an adult tool or a toy in professional settings?
- Durability
- How well do its materials and moving parts handle everyday carry?
- Price band
- A stable range, rather than an exact price that quickly becomes stale.
No product here is a treatment. We compare wellness tools only; supplements, food, and medication are outside the Gear Lab.
